Winter has set in! If you’re starting to feel thankful that the scorching heat has gone now and that you can step outside freely without your umbrella, then think again! The summer and rains have gone away making way for the cold weather. Winter season, along with cool and breezy air, also brings in hair troubles like dandruff, frizz and static hair that are capable of making those bad hair days a lot more frequent!

Here are some tips that could protect your hair from the winter season:

1) Hot oil treatment for dry scalp and hair:

  • To treat the dry and fragile hair, hot oil helps a lot. Take any natural oil that is available in the market easily. It could be coconut oil, avocado oil, almond oil or even jojoba oil.
  • Heat the oil in a bowl for 4-5 minutes and take it off the flame. Do not over heat the oil as it may damage the scalp.
  • Apply this luke warm oil with the help of finger tips to your scalp and entire hair.
  • Massage the oil for 5-10 minutes and wrap a hot towel.
  • Leave it for an hour or two and then rinse it off using a mild shampoo.

2) Trim your hair regularly:

  • It is essential to trim your hair regularly in order to get rid of split ends.
  • Aim to get it done every 6 – 8 weeks and this will promote healthy hair and hair growth.

3) Condition your hair correctly:

  • While conditioning your hair, it is extremely important to give your hair that extra moisture during winters.
  • One extra thing you can do during this season is add some of your conditioning hair oils to the conditioner.
  • Choose a non- greasy oil that you are comfortable with and leave it on for about 15- 20 minutes.
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water then.

We hope these tips help in taking care of your hair better during the winter season. If you have any other tips or queries do write to us on Facebook or Twitter.
