Don’t we all love the monsoons? The weather is nice and cool. However, monsoons are that time of the year where the humidity and frizz just can’t be ignored. Your hair is bound to be affected by this! Most people totally stay away from heat styling and other tools during this season!

Here some easy do-it-yourself hairstyles that you could try out to look stylish and oh-so-fabulous during the rainy season.

Bun

A bun is very simple to make and looks fabulous! It is the best way to avoid feeling sticky and sweaty during the rainy season.

The steps to make a bun are as follows:

  • Brush your hair to remove all the knots.
  • You can then use an elastic band to secure your hair in a high pony tail.
  • After you have done this, proceed to wrapping your hair tightly around the base of your ponytail and use bobby pins to secure the end of your ponytail into the ponytail base.

Side Braid

If you have long hair and want to keep it healthy this monsoon, a side braid should serve as the best option. This hairstyle is quite versatile and suits all face shapes.

The steps to make a side braid are as follows:

  • First brush your hair to either side (right or left)
  • Braid your hair over your shoulder. Let it be loose and comfortable
  • Use bobby pins and hair clips to keep it secure
  • You could also use a hair spray to keep it firmly in place

Fishtail Braid

A fishtail braid is extremely cute and will keep your hair well held together preventing it from being messy during the rains. It’s perfect on a day out as it looks trendy and keeps your hair well maintained. It may sound quite complicated but it is anything but that.

The steps to make a side braid are as follows:

  • First brush your hair to ensure it is tangle free
  • Then divide your hair into two sections
  • Cross a strand from the right section to the left
  • Cross a strand from the left section to the right
  • Continue crossing the strands throughout the length of your hair
  • Secure the end with a rubber band
