We’ve all heard the quote “You are what you eat”. Did you know this is true even for your hair? The health, shine and lustre of your hair depends on the food that you eat. So here are a few super foods that we feel you must include in your diet.

 

1.Spinach

We have all surely been told to include green vegetables in our diet. Spinach is a dark green vegetable which is known to be beneficial for your hair. It is rich in Vitamin A, Iron and Vitamin C, which are believed to work together for a healthy scalp. Include spinach in your salads or eat them with your meals as often as you can.

2.Guava

Guava is known to be rich in Vitamin C. Did you know that one cup of Guava is believed to have around 350+ milligrams of Vitamin C. This can help prevent breakage and make your hair shafts stronger.

3. Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are believed to contain antioxidants that are good for dry and dull hair. Your hair may also regain its shine with sweet potatoes.

4.Cinnamon

Cinnamon is believed to help with blood flow which increases blood circulation. This helps to bring oxygen and nutrients to your hair and thus can improve hair health. You can sprinkle some cinnamon powder on your toast or add it to your morning coffee.

5.Eggs

Eggs are rich in proteins and iron and thus have a lot of benefits for your hair as well.  It can also be used as a conditioner for your hair as it is believed to leave it soft and shiny. Eggs are also known to be rich in biotin, a deficiency of which can lead to hair loss! Try to include eggs for breakfast to protect your lovely mane.

6.Coconut

Coconut water is great for hydrating your entire body. It contains potassium which known to provide necessary nutrients to our hair and body.  You can also have a glass of coconut water every day.

7.Bell Peppers

Bell peppers (Green, Yellow and Red) are a delicious source of Vitamin C which are known to benefit your hair in many ways. Bell peppers are known to make your skin look younger and your hair healthier.

8.Walnuts

Walnuts are known to be high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which help the body retain moisture giving your locks a lustrous shine. You can eat a few walnuts straight after your breakfast or even add them to your salads.
